7 years after a KD diagnosis (1 case of sudden

cardiac death). Percutaneous transluminal coronary revascularization was attempted in four cases (1 requiring cardiac transplantation), and two other cases underwent primary bypass graft surgery. Whereas this study investigated cases of KD with severe coronary sequelae in the Province of Quebec, larger collaborative studies should be conducted for further understanding of the disease in predominantly non-Asian populations.”
“Studies LDN-193189 in vitro comparing the outcome of spontaneous versus IVF twin pregnancies report heterogeneous results. This may depend on differences in the studied populations and/or in the management approach to twin pregnancy. The aim of the present study was to compare both maternal and perinatal outcomes in dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies who where spontaneously conceived or originated by successful homologous IVF. In order to get homogeneous observations, monochorionic twin pregnancies and triplet pregnancies were excluded. Moreover, to avoid any possible bias deriving from differences in the obstetric management, all pregnancies were managed by the same team applying fixed obstetric protocols. The study included

Nutlin-3a cell line 223 twin pregnancies, 84 conceived by IVF and 139 spontaneously conceived. Overall, maternal and perinatal outcomes were similar in the two groups: no significant differences were observed as far as gestational age at delivery, birthweight, perinatal morbidity and mortality, and rate of malformations were concerned. The rate of Caesarean section was slightly, but not significantly, selleck higher in IVF pregnancies. In conclusion, the outcome of IVF twin pregnancies is comparable to that of spontaneously conceived twin pregnancies, provided that the same management criteria are

applied. (C) 2010, Reproductive Healthcare Ltd. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.”
“Percutaneous stenting of branch pulmonary arteries (PAs) has become an important interventional therapy in the complete management of congenital heart disease. Few data exist on long-term outcomes for patients requiring placement of bilateral stents. This study aimed to determine the medium- to long-term outcomes after bilateral stenting of branch PAs in patients with congenital heart disease. A retrospective study analyzed all procedural and follow-up data on patients undergoing bilateral PA stenting during a single procedure. From October 2001 to May 2012, 26 patients underwent bilateral PA stenting (total of 62 stents). The mean age of these patients was 9.5 +/- A 12 years, and their mean weight was 27 +/- A 19 kg. The mean procedural time was 191 +/- A 67 min, and the mean fluoroscopy time was 50 +/- A 29 min. The mean gradient across the right pulmonary artery decreased from 35 +/- A 22 to 11 +/- A 12 mmHg (p < 0.001). The left pulmonary artery gradient decreased from 32 +/- A 17 to 10 +/- A 12 mmHg (p < 0.
